Just Don’t Call it a Bucket List

Way back in May I spent a glorious long weekend on Hamilton Island with MFK. Over drinks and dinner one night we got to discussing our list of 100 things. 100 things that we wanted to do before we died. I wrote about 50-odd things that night, one of which was to get into the staff bar on Hamilton Island. It was really hard to come up with 100 things and I didn’t want to commit myself to too much while I was drunk.

I’ve thought about the list on and off since then, but I haven’t actually added to it. One thing that I’ve decided is that it shouldn’t be limited to 100 things. It should just be a list of all the things I want to do. In the next few days. Months. Years. Ever.

I’m going to keep the list online and add to it as I think of things. You can view it here. However, under no circumstances can you refer to it as a Bucket List. I do not have a Bucket List.

It looks like all I really want to do with my life is travel. Some of the things I’m a bit more ambivalent about. Buy a house? Meh. Get my scuba certificate? Eek! What do you think? Am I missing anything?

I didn’t add getting into the staff bar at Hamo to this list. Been there, done that. Would you like to see my proof?

You know I can’t post photos from inside the bar! What happens at the staff bar stays at the staff bar. But believe me when I say it was NOTHING like Dirty Dancing. Despite my announcement that I had carried a watermelon. I know, right? What’s up with that?
